Ann is the representative of the helpless American people Further, Denham, a white leader of the expedition, symbolizes FDR, le ading the American people at great risk to find a new world to save them. King Kong, a gigantic ape, symbolizes human psychological anxieties such as, race and Depression, which have grown into something immensely savage, and threatening people s lives.
